I'm totally in my dorm room right now. How sick is that? Orientation has been nice punctuated by loooooong periods of absolute bordom. I have to sit through these lectures in this lecture hall made completely of solid concrete=absolutely no cell phone service. It makes me so sad because I can't text Lauren... :( Oh that's right, Yes, Joseph Richard-Bianchi Sinkiewicz has a cell phone. I finally gave in. It has brightend up my life because I get to talk to lovely Lauren about my day.

I wrote this one year ago. Looking back at it, it shows me that some things have changed and somethings haven't. It shows me that I've grown as a person and as a writer in the now obvious mistakes in meter and bad half ryhmes, but it also shows me that some things haven't changed and still prove true to THIS DAY.
All the termites were proud, steady and true Building and milling, they reached for the truth The birds, they were calm, and confident Raising their young, with what God had sent
But long long ago, not one knows why These races grew hateful, and soon they tried To kill one another as best as they could And not live in peace as they knew they should
They both lived on, the bird and the bug One built nests and the other, he dug The termites’ cathedrals stretched into the sky And the trees hosting nests loomed equally high
Then one sad day, one unlike the rest An infamous day, a reminder at best Two birds sent some cathedrals crashing down to the ground In the plutonian dust, no survivors were found
Nothing endured, the landscape was sterile The sun blotted out and the earth was made frail They finally managed to wipe themselves out To the birds and the termites there was no other route
So that’s the story of the bug and the bird And since its happening, much else has occurred Indeed it is very heart wrenching, my friend, But here you have it, the beginning of an end

Never forget.

There were two trees, two lives, two worlds. A bird in both, though through the darkness they could not see. So they sang to each other through the abyss of time and space and love and lust until one day the other flew away. With no-buddy to sing to, the darkness grew thicker and the silence was never so infinite. But now and again, on wings of the wind, the song of his lost slid back. With an ear to the moon and one to his heart, he sung back to his other. Filling his forest with that other than light, and as his chest heaved into the dark, he hoped that his lost, somewhere, was singing into the light.

The Faint was absolutely awesome. I think it was the best concert I've ever been to. I honestly can't describe it. I pushed my way to the front and it was disgusting. I've never been that hot at a concert ever. I stopped and thought about it and it was hotter that sitting in a car that's been in the sun all day. It was worse than a sauna. It was so hot up there that if felt like uncomfortable burning, like a shower that is just a smidgen too hot. Despite Soma's ridiculously hot atmosphere, the Faint still managed to get me worked up so sexuAL.
But I'd have to say that the best part of the night was making all those random new friends. Thank you Lauren for telling me that I should make friends in line with the folks at Rilo Kiley. Since I was there by myself, it inspired me to do just that. So I made small talk with the girl next to me in line who seemed to be there alone too. Eventually some of her friends showed up and we even got hooked up with a better place in line. Yeah, I'm an asshole, but you all know you do it.
New friends in the order that they were met:
Gloria Wendy Riley Chris Javie Tom Celest
You're all awesome. SURPRISE HUG, SPONTANEOUS BUTT SEX
Cris, Tom and I left durring Bright Eyes because we just weren't feeling it. We hung out at In and Out for a bit and called it a night. Everyone had the best mix of chill and crazy and they took me in and included me like I was one of them. It was truly a blessing. It's too bad they all live in like, Escondido. But we WILL hang out.
My one last shout out is to Caris. Thank you so much, none of this would be possible if you hadn't hooked me up at the last minute.
Isn't it insanely beautiful that when I woke up this morning, I had no intention of even going to this concert, then this all happened. God is great.

| Sinoda |
[26 Apr 2005|12:05am] |
Sinoda is not opposite The order may hint so But be not fooled my darling light Or into darkness go
Not inverse ‘tis or upside down Not rightside in or out But backwards yes it can be said Has caught my heart in doubt
Some lesser men have cast a dark And lesser shadow on The connotation of this word: Backward: home to dawn.
Perhaps it is in retrospect A backwards look is made Upon this word so sinful bright A falsehood lives to fade.
Oh backwards you, oh beautiful Oh light of shining day Please right yourself, within the tree You’re facing the wrong way.

HABEMVS PAPAM
BENEDICTVM XVI
“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” Mathew 16:18f
“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?’ He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ He said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’” John 21:15
